Our great nation is at a crossroads and we the people must move quickly and creatively to avert catastrophe and defend the national security of our country. On the third anniversary of the unconscionable and illegal attack on Iraq, we must confront the president and his small circle of sycophants. The Bush regime lacks the competence, vision, wisdom and moral compass to lead America. The case is clear.

After his administration threatened the carpet bombing of Afghanistan in August 2001, he failed to stop the obvious retaliation from the terrorist organization al Qaeda, which had been created by President Reagan and the Bush the Lesser’s father, President George Herbert Walker Bush.

Bush took advantage of the 9/11 catastrophe to usurp inalienable rights from the American people with the Orwellian “Patriot Act.”

The Bush administration then conspired, planned and waged illegal war against the arch enemy of Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, a dictator in charge of a broken and beaten country — two-thirds of it under a no-fly zone.

Now we have spent $250 billion on the war in Iraq. And our military budget has increased additionally — by over a hundred billion dollars. The debt limit has risen by 3 trillion dollars to a record 9 trillion dollars.

When Reagan and Bush took office in 1991, the entire debt of the United States from George Washington to Jimmy Carter was $800 billion. This more than ten-fold increase is due directly to the imperialist dreams of the Reagan and Bush regimes.

In their own words, from their own documents, what they seek is “Full Spectrum Dominance” of this planet.

As we speak, they conspire for endless and enduring war to make their cronies rich at Halliburton and Exxon.

As we speak, they spy on us without warrant for exercising our First Amendment rights. They don’t have the time to investigate their friends in the United Arab Emirates, but they have time to spy on every American.

They spy because they want us to capitulate to a manufactured myth of a fearless leader.

They spy on us because they fear democracy.

They spy on us because they are the most unpopular regime in modern American history, with the vast majority of the population turned against them.

As we speak, Bush and his unelected counselors are advancing the idea of a “unitary executive.” PR spin for an “authoritarian despot.”

Bush is guilty of war crimes under the UN Charter which is a treaty in effect under US law, as well as the principles of Nuremberg embodied in Article VI.

Bush is guilty of violating the covenant against torture which is in effect under US law as a treaty.

Bush is guilty of violating the U.S. Constitution, Amendment IV, which requires warrants and probable cause for spying on the American people.

We must do everything in our power to wage peace in the street, to give a backbone to the Democratic Party, which lacked the courage to support the courageous efforts of Senator Russ Feingold.

We must make it impossible for the Bush regime to govern as if it’s business as usual.

The fate of the world depends upon our ceaseless and tireless activity — that need only galvanize into direct action the vast majority of American people, who already oppose George W. Bush’s war-mongering and Cheney’s war-profiteering.

We demand the impeachment of George W. Bush because the world can’t wait!

Right on! Here we have a Congress that cannot even utter the word “censure” and we have a candidate for Ohio Governor who goes for the “I-word.”

I agree that we must denounce both war-mongering and war-profiteering. The public must see that greed and lies went hand-in-hand in this debacle. And, yes, the Democrats need to either grow a spine or get out of the way for fierce Greens like Fraudbuster Bob!

I read some of these ideas on http://www.commondreams.org but Bob is great at pulling it all together in one place. He is a helluva spoeaker, too.

That idea of “Full Spectrum Dominance” is scary. These Bushies are really out there. And the Dems don’t seem capable of taking them on.
